I have found that asking managers and leaders this question is a very effective way to help a business. It starts with understanding and then helping them with their greatest issues. It is quite often that pivot point, in solving the biggest issues, you can change from a point of stress to a point of excitement, seeing opportunities rather than continual challenges.
When asking this question, there is usually a combination of many things, and professional human resources support can help put manageable solutions in place.
The thing I love about helping businesses with these problems is that every business is unique. The people within a business have all the vital information about their business, they are the ones that make their business great. My job is to understand what makes that business great, and the problems they face. The exciting part is then crafting unique solutions that retain their strengths, whilst improving their problems, plus most importantly improves business performance.
I have found that common issues quite often fit into one of the following categories: self-management, risk mitigation, growth pains, implementing the employee lifecycle in an effective way (attraction, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, development, talent management, engagement, reward and retention) and/or management development.
If you or your management have human resources issues that keep you up at night, then please get in contact, I will be happy to help you.
